HOW PINTS+POETRY WAS BORN

Origin Story

This started the way most good ideas do—over drinks and conversation.

Jenn and Jad were in New Orleans dreaming up a space with poetry, jazz, and no-pants parties… (We’ll have to circle back to that, but in the meantime…) What emerged from that ridiculousness was a belief that poetry could do more than sit on a page: poetry as a shared experience. We want it to bring joy to your daily rituals—something you'll reach for every morning, every evening, every moment you need words to steady you.

So we asked: What if poetry wasn't just precious? What if it were practical, beautiful, and impossible to ignore?

The answer: PINTS+POETRY.

We print curated verse on premium glassware because poems deserve to be lived with. Each collection—from Jad's contemporary originals to timeless classics to zodiac-inspired pieces by Jenn—invites you into a movement. One where reading, drinking, and reveling aren't separate acts but parts of the same ritual.

This isn't about selling glasses. It's about building a community that thinks deeply, shares generously, and finds poetry everywhere—even at the bottom of a pint.

Jenn Perell

Jenn Perell is a life coach, strategy consultant, and a creative force behind PINTS+POETRY. The ideas for this project pour from her. Based in Hawaii, she works with clients worldwide to help them build lives and businesses that feel authentically their own—and now she gets to bring that same energy to every glass at PINTS+POETRY. She writes the Constellations collection and handles branding, strategy, and community building. When she's not coaching or obsessing over fonts, you'll find her paddling or somewhere near the water’s edge with a green drink in hand (or occasionally tequila;) dreaming up ways to foster connection.

Jad Josey

Jad Josey is a Central Coast-based writer of fiction and poetry, author of 'Cast Your Longest Shadow.' His work has been described as "devastatingly honest"and "impossible to put down"—which is why his verse now lives on glassware. He co-founded PINTS+POETRY to make poetry more accessible. Since his days lecturing at Cal Poly, his joy of sharing the written word has spanned decades. As the operational backbone of the business, he handles everything from admin and logistics to co-curating The Round collection and keeping the whole operation running smoothly. When he's not writing, you’ll likely find him finishing Jenn’s green drink, jumping in the Westy to find the best waves, and waxing poetic about why poetry deserves better.

Poetry as Living Art

We believe poetry belongs in hands, not just on pages. Every glass is a canvas that brings words into daily life.

Community Over Competition

We build up poets through generous partnerships, celebrate collaboration, and create space for diverse voices to thrive together.

Quality That Honors the Craft

From typography to glassware, every detail respects both the poet's work and the customer's experience. We're premium because poetry deserves it.

Connection Through Curation

Thoughtful selection matters. We introduce
people to poets they'll love and create collections that spark conversation and meaning.

Sustainable Growth

We balance profit with purpose - supporting poets fairly, growing thoughtfully, and building something that lasts.
